Last two for me were The Silurians and The War Games while I was in Covid isolation.
The Silurians continues to impress me. It's long but it does a good job of bringing various threads in and out as it unspools so it never wears out its welcome. Pity about seeing the tape on the costumes in some shots but otherwise I like the depiction of the Silurians' alien tech.
The War Games still impresses me with its scope. It starts small and keeps getting bigger and bigger until it's almost out of control and then wham! Time Lords! So much packed into the last episode and it's easy to take for granted post-video era just how much it changed what we knew about The Doctor.

The Web Planet.
This is only the second time I've watched this series all the way through (usually I can't make it past Episode 2). Although I admire their enthusiasm in trying to create an entirely alien world, I think it was a little too ambitious for the BBC in 1965. I really like the Tardis team of the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicky and I love anything featuring giant ants (See 'Them!', 'Empire of The Ants', etc.) although after hearing the title (The Web Planet), my wife expected spiders, not ants.
Confusion....

Maybe if it had been tightened up to be a 4parter it would have a better reputation.

Yes, I'm sure that would have improved things (also, my wife really enjoyed TWP!).

It's November, which makes it Doctor Who month! I've watched barely any 'old' Doctor Who in the past few years after doing a massive rewatch in 2018, with a few exceptions, the most recent being The Sensorites late last year. But I always try and make time to at least watch An Unearthly Child around the anniversary. This month I thought I'd try and do a mini-rewatch, time permitting. I've got the weekend off and the weather is dreadful, so Toby & I are infront of the TV. Of course, you've gotta start with William Hartnell, so this morning I've watched The Tenth Planet.

We've been watching all the Vicky stories in sequence - from The Rescue to The Myth Makers. I'm very fond of The Tenth Planet - those original Mondas Cybermen with cloth faces and sing-song voices are wonderfully creepy.

The Time Meddler, the second story in my November re-watch. A great watch this, i never get board of it, Douglas Camfield's' direction is superb, like everything he does!!. I watched The Moonbase yesterday, the animation, especially the movement is outstanding!! The story is really average but , hay it's the Trought. It's the first story (for me) where he nails his version of the Doctor, therefore , a must watch. Regards HGL.

We're watching The Chase - (the old Dalek serial, not the BBC quiz show). Episode 1 is absolutely smashing, (love that fun, jazzy music) - what a very cool Tardis team! Unfortunately, after the first episode, this story goes down-hill very quickly. Still, I'm looking forward to the Mechanoids.

The Ice Warriors - 4th story in my November re-watch. This is always my first port of call when the proper cold snap of the year arrives, still waiting for it, it's been very mild although stormy here in leafy Cheshire so, i decided to randomly thumb through my DVD collection, see where my fingers stopped ( eyes closed of course) landed on The Tenth Planet so in it went, also watched the featurette Frozen Out, really good information about Bill from Anneke Wills. I have so many extras that i never watched when i first bought the Who DVD's, Frozen Out was a lovely surprise, glad i saved it!! The Tenth Planet is a great story for Bill's exit, shame about some of the bit part actors acting, or lack of it, but hey it's par for the course as we all know, i'm sure some swine out there is sitting on episode 4, certain of it. The animation is rather good though. Crafty jiggery pokery with the dialogue when Bill fell ill, good writing , you can't whack it!! Regards HGL.

Destiny of the Daleks. Always enjoy this one, and still do. Very underrated. Probably the most serious story of the season, and the odd lack of music does tend to give it the odd slightly dull patch, but it's still a lot of fun with Tom on smashing form. Romana doesn't have that much to do but Lalla still makes a big impression, not least because she's so ridiculously pretty. You can keep your Peris and your Ruby Tuesdays, I wanna be wrapped up in that coat (with her in it!).
