Not meaning to be deliberately contrary, but this just might be my favourite Colin Baker story.
At least the storytelling is straightforward. Paul Darrow is a lot of fun. Yes, that ridiculour padding in the TARDIS while waiting to intercept the missile is beyond a joke, but I do think this story has more going for it than is popularly believed.
And I also don't know why the Bandrils are mocked so mercilessly as being inadequate looking aliens. I think - and have always thought - that they look fine and effective on the telly monitor.

Darrow is kind of fun, but that’s the only good thing about this slab of awfulness.

Just been flipping through the latest DWM in Tesco, picking out the good bits worth reading and not actually buying the thing - and noticed that the Blu-ray of Season 22 was mentioned as having a cgi update to the effects of "Timelash". Has anyone seen this upgraded version yet and does it help the story's cause in any way?

A promotional photo from the Cinderella pantomime, taken on the "Timelash" set - the story where JN-T, of course, pulled Colin and Nicola out of rehearsals to instead rehearse the panto.... Related Thread:Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown (Nicola Bryant)

Colin says on the "Trials and Tribulations" documentary on the "Trial" DVD box set that he was up against " Robin of Sherwood" this season. But the reality is that the 1985 Season of Robin only started with this story. "Timelash" part 1 started at 5:20 and Robin started at 5:35, so "Who" even had a healthy head start on the other show.

I have a huge fondness for this story. Like Cyggy, I don't see it as the steaming pile that fandom seems to automatically set it at.
Paul Darrow is the absolute highlight, and I love that creepy android!
I do think it's a bit of a pity that the storyline about the Borad being captivated by Peri's beauty is used again so quickly after it had been done with brilliant and poignant effect in The Caves Of Androzani just the year before.
I also think the lady that plays Vena is sadly wooden, but apart from that I think Timelash is great fun.

I've not watched Timelash in many a year and unfortunately, I simply can't remember much about it except Paul Darrow's Richard III impression and a very unWellsian version of HG Wells. I'm going to dig this out at the weekend for a rewatch.

Not sure what to think of it really. I'm kind-of watching it without much emotion or enthusiasm while listening to the actors' commentaries, which is more about judging their own performances I feel this time. I find Mr Darrow is hamming it up mostly, having been immortalised as Avon, but maybe I'm being unfair.

I'd rather watch "The Web Planet".
