The second version in 1984 (after the success of 1982) with Mary Tamm as Prince Charming, Colin replacing Peter as Buttons and Nicola now in the title role - plus Jacqueline Pearce as the Fairy Godmother...... along with a plug for it on Saturday Superstore....

From the recent Season 22 blu-ray set, with Nicola explaining at 1:38 how saying "No thanks" to taking part in the pantomime "was not an option".....

Seems there could well have been a third version of the panto mounted in Singapore, during the shooting of " Yellow Fever (and How to Cure It)") in 1985 too.... Interesting snippet on page 219/220 of the JNT book, which says the following......

6:00 and the question is asked: "Who else is going to be in the Doctor Who pantomime?" of JN-T and Colin - allowing the audience to hear all about how they can get their tickets and what box office number to ring.
Suspect that this might well be a pre-arranged audience plant(?) - as JN-T goes on about "There's somebody there..." to Colin at 5:12.... and points again at 5:40...

The 1985 hiatus and all that followed seemed to, of course, take the wind out of the Cinderella sails? Surprisingly(?) not playing Buttons or Cinders at any point.....

To be honest, the damage was long done by then, and this pantomime could hardly have made things worse. At worst it was the wrong lick of paint on a car that already had a broken engine.
That said, Peter Davison's account of what a tyrant Gary Downie was behind the scenes and how he treated the female cast like utter dirt was revolting to read.

Rumours abounded at the time, of course, that Bonnie was simply cast as she could then star in JN-T's pantomimes. but Bonnie herself has since disputed this idea on page 245 of the Marson book....
