IMDBSee also:"Spearhead from Space" (1970)With some suspicious similarites to Jon Pertwee's 'Doctor Who' debut tale, is this still a good film in it's own right?

I first saw this film on the telly in the '90s and loved it ( Invasion was part of a late night SF double bill, along with Strange Invaders (1983)). I never made the Spearhead From Space connection until years later, but when I did, that only reinforced my appreciation of this film. I'm very much the fan of these strange British Sci Fi/Horror flicks from the early '60s - Invasion, The Projected Man, The Night Caller, The Damned, The Earth Dies Screaming, Unearthly Stranger, etc. I always associate the ever-dependable Edward Judd with this type of thing ( The Day The Earth Caught Fire, First Men In The Moon, Island Of Terror) though in this case, it's the stunning Yoko Tani (leader of the Lystrians)who has my attention! Creepy, weird, atmospheric and filmed in gorgeous black and white, Invasion is another hit for Bob Holmes.
