The best cliffhanger that never was....

Would we all agree that this cliffhanger is the single best ever one? Fan wisdom seems to suggest it is...? Crash Landing | The Caves of AndrozaniMaybe not the very best Classic Who cliffhanger, but absolutely brilliant all the same. "Ah Stotzy, have you had a good rest?" Why did it take Davison three years to be this good?

Why did it take Davison three years to be this good? Because JNT didn't really like or value writers like Robert Holmes. Saward had to push persistently for writers like him to be brought back on. Davison could've been a champ under writers like Holmes. Instead he was largely written without a clue.

I like Davison but there are times when the Fifth Doctor resembles a flustered school teacher taking a group of kids on a boring daytrip somewhere. In Androzani, we see that PD could have been much more.

A good 'un was the cliff hanger to City Of Death part one - Behind the locked laboratory door, Count Scarlioni tears off the human mask he wears to reveal his true alien face, that of Scaroth of the Jagorth. Doctor Who: Count Scarlioni's True Identity - City of Death

I dont know what's the weirdest part of this cliffhanger - seeing two Silurians walking briskly into the laboratory, Pertwee's funny facial expression or the wonderfully incongruous medieval music that accompanies the scene.
Love it!

Let me put in a word for Remembrance of the Daleks:1.
That one-two punch of seeing the Dalek levitating up the stairs cutting to the Dalek-eyestalk view of the Doctor looking like he just lost control of his bowels was phenomenal!
