She was alright. I liked her. One of my favourite companions, and she's a part of my favourite TARDIS team (5th, Nyssa, Tegan and Adric). She's the kind, thoughtful, resourceful, balanced one, compared to the brattish Adric and the fiery Tegan. I think one of the biggest highlights for Nyssa from her tenure is in Castrovalva, pulling together with Tegan to help the Doctor through his difficult regeneration. And even though it's not that popular, I do think she got a good send off in Terminus.

A bit vacant really, at least on TV.
I did like how the audios made her a bit more kick ass and did more with her backstory. On audio she really became a companion I liked spending time with.
I couldn't help feel on TV she was a bit of a downgraded pantomime substitute for Romana who JNT had determined wouldn't get as above herself.

Yeah, don't do the BF audios down - well, not too much anyway. Some of the better audios flesh out the characters so well and I'd suggest that the intervening twenty years has also brought wisdom to the roles these people used to play...
