That was really interesting. Thanks for that GC.
In fact I thought it was so interesting I went and bought David Brunt’s book.
That’s the type of Who books I like, factually based ones. Not really a huge fan of fanfic I’m afraid.

I can't recall if I got up to this story in the novelizations or not. But I'm sure I read about it in the magazine. NOTHING about this story makes it seem interesting in the slightest to me. I'm not even sure if anything about it makes the slightest sense or not. Which can be a real problem in a "science-fiction" series.
I never had a problem with "The Mind Robber", though. That one was JUST-- BARELY-- sensible enough, by its conclusion, to make some sort of sense. I remember when I first saw it, thinking, Part 1 just HAD to have been a huge influence on "Warriors Gate" many years later.

Just looked this up at the IMDB. Apart from Michael Gough, the only other person in it I know is Campbell Singer. He was in 2 episodes of THE AVENGERS and 2 of THE SAINT. He was the first of, I believe, 4 different actors to play Inspector Claude Eustace Teal, and the best by far. (Ivor Dean was the worst-- naturally, he STUCK.) also, back in 1951, he'd played Dr. Watson in an unsold TV pilot, where he was genuinely better than the actor who played Holmes.
I wonder why they had so much trouble finding a steady actor to play Teal? I'd rank him as the 2nd-best to ever play the part, after Gordon McLeod who was in 3 of the RKO films, all 3 of the ones made IN ENGLAND (which is where the entire series should have been filmed, dammit).
