Am glad they cut it down to 3 episodes - but even then I find it a bit of a drag....
Good props though - insects etc.
Still, am glad that they didn't use this as the first ever story, as originally planned.

"There's nothing but death all around us"Films and TV series about miniaturized humans are always fun - Dr Cyclops, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Fantastic Voyage, Land of The Giants, etc and Planet Of The Giants makes for a charming, but odd three parter. Considering the small budget, the effects are quite impressive - we see giant earthworms, a giant ant, a giant fly and a monstrous moggie, but the best scene is when the Doctor and his tiny gang walk in front of the dead man's body. The effect of seeing the little people looking up in horror at the enormous face of the murdered Farrow is quite unnerving, surreal and startling (it almost has a Pop Art feel to it). 7/10

View Attachment 7/10 I love Planet Of Giants, it's very underestimated and overlooked. I think the sets are great, and the insect models are very well realised.

I often wonder if ol' Irwin Allen had somehow seen this and given him ideas... probably not.
