A fan/researcher has located a few seconds of stock footage of Hippos that was used in episode 1 of the Wheel in Space - originally used in the 1965 David Attenborough series Adventure Zambezi, episode 2 "The Ancient Highway."
At the 36.48 mark:
Presumably the scene below in bold type:
DOCTOR: There we are, it's coming up now.
(A beautiful lake appears on the scanner.)
JAMIE: Hey, now that looks all right! Boy! Look at it. Hey, what's that? The size of it.
DOCTOR: Well, that's funny, it's changed to night now.
JAMIE: It's a wee bit quick, isn't it? Look, it's changed again. What's going on?
DOCTOR: Oh dear. Those pictures aren't what's happening outside, I'm certain of that.

I'm quite fond of it personally. The story itself is heavy in suspense, the production values are brilliant and enhanced perfectly by Brian Hodgson's eerie minimalist electronica score, the guest cast are brilliantly portrayed and Zoe makes a great debut and immediately bounces off Pat and Jamie excellently.
With that said though, I'm not going to deny it's flaws. Coming after the holy 10/10 trilogy of Enemy, Web and Fury it's more of a generic adventure which pales to the rest of the season, the dialogue is a bit too waffling and technobabbling in areas and although I like their hybrid redesigns, this is arguably the earliest misuse of the Cybermen as generic stock villains who could easily be substituted for any other original creature or monster. Not to mention their weird habit of rocking their bodies when they talk as if they're at an Iron Maiden concert is a bit naff.
Not a standout or particularly great and I can understand why some might find it weak but it's a good enough closer to one of the best seasons of Doctor Who.
7/10

I don't think we're supposed to notice mate. Dr Gemma Corwyn did use a stethoscope so i'm thinking it's possible the Trought was able to slow one of his hearts right down so as not to draw too much attention. Can't remember off the top of my head how thorough the examination Bill got in Edge Of Destruction was? Regards HGL.

From a 2020 rewatch of the Missing Episodes only... Episode 1: (Using Loose Cannon Recon on Dailymotion)This is a lovely, atmospheric episode and both Troughton and Hines make it worthwhile. Sad to say that any chance of an EARTHSHOCK style reveal were blown by THE RADIO TIMES once again with that spoilery synopsis for this episode... This would be a lovely episode to see back in the archives. An overlooked gem, lumped in with the rest of the Wheel story, when it's largely a lovely little two-hander on it's own. If Troughton and Hines had done a touring stage play of WHO they could have done worse than to cannibalize this script in some way.

Episode 2:
(Using Loose Cannon Recon on Dailymotion)
Am definitely torn over which episode I would most like to see returned. That lovely first episode with Troughton and Hines doing their thang or this one, which - while minus Troughton - has not only the debut of Zoe of course, but the premiere of the John Smith monicker.
I thought that this episode rattled along nicely. Wendy Padbury has arrived to form one third of my favourite TARDIS team of all time.
Another brusque base commander in the form of Jarvis. But I think he's our most unstable one so far.
Just good solid acting from everyone and the whole cast is taking it seriously, which always helps.
I so prefer this kind of storytelling, without a post-modern quip or smugly glib line of dialogue from a companion.
In the end I have voted for this as the episode I most want to see returned from this tale, with the Zoe/John Smith points in it's favour. But it was a tough choice.

Episode 4:(Using Loose Cannon Recon on Dailymotion)A good, solid episode. Agree (with fellow rewatcher, Yartek) about Chang's acting. If one wishes to see a well acted Chang I recommend STAR TREK VI. Christopher Plummer this guy ain't though - and I actually wondered if he was taking the Mickey with his delivery, like Peter Sellers on a bad day. Interesting passing mention that Zoe is as brilliant as she is due to a "brainwashing" system that she has been through, where the candidates are often then unable to feel emotions. Sounds as bad as the Cybermen! Wendy is great in this role and has shown immediate chemistry with both Troughton and Hines. The Loose Cannon C.G.I. is very well done I thought; clearly a true labour of love. I wondered how the reconstructors chose that camera angle as the Cybermen got into the crate, then checked the telesnaps. Sure enough, it's faithful, as is the space walk one....... BBC Telesnaps Episode 4... I get the impression that Troughton was quite taken with the actress playing Gemma, as he was with Mary Peach and there was, I thought, a nice chemistry between their characters of a Davison/Nerys Hughes kind. Talking of KINDA, Jarvis is threatening to go all Hindle on us now - but I was surprised that no one seems to have heard of the Cybermen. Don't they remember all those dumb, over the top New Who invasions and stupid Cyberkings stomping all over Victorian London for starters? Seriously though, it's a far cry from Robson in MOONBASE saying "There were Cybermen, every schoolchild knows that". But they seem to have been erased from history here. No reference to the Doctor having two hearts in either this or Episode 3, but Gemma at lleast says "Interesting X-ray" to Troughton. A good episode. I wouldn't be sorry if this one came back randomly, but my Holy Grail for this particular tale remains either episodes 1 or 2. Chang-watch Guide:For the many, many Chang fans, worldwide, who want to know where their hero appears, you are looking for 09:45 & 13:00

Episode 5
(Using Loose Cannon Recon on Dailymotion)
Quite a busy episode. I quite enjoyed that. Zoe had her moment of realisation that there were many things she did not know and was out of her depth, setting up her need to explore the universe by story's end.
The c.g.i. continues to impress for this reconstruction - and the re-use of footage is very cleverly done in places.
It was unusual - but kind of refreshing - to see the Doctor being roundly told off and berated for a stupid and life-threatening decision he had made.
The Cybermen's plan is completely insane of course, but the way it is discussed here makes it sound plausible if you don't think about it too deeply. So their ultimate aim is "plundering the Earth of it's mineral wealth".
Was actually unaware of Gemma's fate. Didn't expect that.
I still think Episode 1 or 2 are the ones I would like to see back - but I wouldn't complain if this one was the only bit of the WHEEL to ever return either.
A solid episode that keeps the (underrated?) story rolling along.

Thinking on it, in the biography of Patrick Troughton it is revealed that he considered Season 6 "A season too far", suggesting that he wished in retrospect that he had left at the end of this season. So if he had then WHEEL would have been his regeneration story - assuming that they would even have continued the show with a new Doctor at that point? That would also have meant that the Cybermen had seen off both the First and Second Doctors! Am glad he stayed on though.
