Quite like The Visitation really. Nice simple, straight forward little adventure story wasn't it, good to look at - very glossy/expensive looking and thought the Terileptils looked good (for the time) Loved all that Pudding Lane stuff at the end. Think ol' Michael Robbins (Richard Mace) kinda stole the show though didn't he.

"I feel as though you've just killed an old friend"
I love the opening scene at the Squire's house - very effective (John Savident is always entertaining ). I also quite like the Terileptil (design/character) and The Visitation's charming 17th Century setting, but the most compelling part of this Four-parter is the character of Richard Mace -"A gentleman of the road, madam. Richard Mace at your service"- played marvelously by Michael Robbins. Sadly, that's the trouble with a lot of the Davison era - the Doctor and his companions are often the least interesting part of the story. This is because there are simply too many people aboard the Tardis during this period, and individually, none of them are particularly likeable. Davison, Bless him, often comes across as a bit bland and effectual, like a flustered parent trying to look after three unruly kids.
An extra point awarded for destroying that bloody Sonic Screwdriver in Episode Three.
7/10

I give it a 7.
A very strong opener and good attention to period detail. The Season 19 companion team is utilized better than normally and it does have the feel of a good family adventure. The witty Richard Mace is a welcome addition to the mix, and probably the best 80's companion we never had.
The momentum gets a bit sloggish in the middle segment, and the Terileptils get rather too overexposed, however. But as Season 19 goes, it feels more on the right track than not.
In some ways it's a shame we didn't get more historicals from Saward.
