From a 2021 rewatch of the Missing Episodes only.... Episode 1: (Using Loose Cannon Recon on Dailymotion)Took me a while to remember - as I was watching it - that it seemed to have no incidental music whatsoever, save for a bit of (stock library?) monk chanting. And it didn't matter. Patrick seems from the off to be full of enthusiasm and energy in the role, the Second Doctor at his best. Jamie is a Highlander - and "used to the cold"... Well, we won't go there... The team work so well together now, Incredible that they managed to get Christopher Lee as the head monk. Oh, wait a minute.... Jack Watling is great as Travers - and really does sound a bit crazy, particularly in the cell scene with Troughton. Two good actors relishing working with each other. Not sure how essential this episode is. Nothing that a JNT years tape release couldn't have covered with a quick summary on VHS by some actor or other..... Oh wait, they did, on "The Troughton Years" VHS - where Pertwee doesn't even bother with a synopsis of this episode at - then summarises episodes 3-6 in just a few sentences....... I can't help but wonder if this story is going to be overlong at six episodes, with close on to three hours of howling wind (but no snow). SIDE ISSUE: Oh yes, I do wonder if they will be adding snow into the forthcoming animation. Should they? It is surely what the makers would have wished for during the production originally....? An episode that does what it sets out to do. It does the job of getting the story set up and it's got Patrick Troughon in it. But am not sure if I will be voting on it as the vital one. More likely to be episode six - at the moment.

Episode 3:(Using Loose Cannon Recon on Dailymotion)Christopher Lee soundabitlike is being very annoying at the start of this episode with his stubborn obstinacy - and Travers is being quite touching in his concern that the robot Yeti might harm "the real" Yeti. Nice to hear Victoria pipe up common sense too in defence of the Doctor's abilities, rather than quivering in the corner - and then pointing out the sphere-chest thing to the others. I mistakenly thought that was Victor Pemberton playing the monk with the staff. It turned out to be David Baron playing Ralpachan, but I did find out that Thomni actor, David Spencer was the longtime partner of Pemberton - while finally being able to put a face to the rumour that that was in fact Harold Pinter using his stage name of David Baron, which is apparently not true and is just a coincidence of stage name.... Harold PinterThe abominable David Baron...... IMDBAnyway, back to the episode..... The captured Yeti looks undeniably cuddly, especially in it's cat's cradle of a hammock. Am not surprised they felt they needed to change the look to the headlamp eyes malarkey, but must admit I prefer the incongruity - cuddly looking, but deadly - of these fatter versions. Another story banging on about an unseen "Master". Nice c.g.i. of the Yeti on the darkened hillside. "They came to get their ball back!" feels like a Troughton improv? Are we sure that's not a couple of fused segments of the Key to Time that Padmasabn the Master hands to the high priest at 14 minutes in? I hope Big Finish don't spot that. :? This is proving to be a good episode for Victoria, being inquisitive, investigative and standing her ground when apprehended. Good ending too. I wonder how many episodes have ended with a comatose monster waking up and threatening the companion? But it always works, I think. This was the best episode so far imo. Hopefully episodes 4, 5 and 6 will keep the momentum up.
